JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMS

Our staff of teaching professionals is ready to help your child become a better tennis player.  The Players' Club offers junior programming designed for various ages and abilities. From experienced junior tournament players to elementary school beginners, we have programs to meet your child's tennis needs. 

Placement of juniors is done by our Director of Junior Tennis, Scott Welsh. Placement into programs is based upon age and skill level, while moving athletes from one program to the next as the child's skill level and committment to tennis increase. *Program requires Junior Membership. Here is a brief description of our individual junior programs:

ELITE Program
This program is designed for the committed player. A player must at least be a 1 star and be top 125 in the Great Lakes. A player in this program is obligated to the 5 days per week. Admission to this program is by interview only.

Commitment Goals:
> Train 5 days per week
> Play 15-30 USTA tournaments per year
> Play matches on weekends (when not in tournaments)

Ranking Goals:
> At least top 50 in the Midwest
> At least top 150 in the Nation
> Consider playing pro tournaments once high ranking level is achieved

Days & Times:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4-6pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 8-10pm

TOURNAMENT Program
This program is designed for the committed player. A player in this program must currently have a ranking on Tennisrecruiting. Players in this group are obligated to attend 3 days per week. Players in this program are also definitely interested in playing college tennis.

Commitment Goals:
> Train 3-5 days per week
> Play 10-15 USTA tournaments per year
> Play matches on weekends (when not in tournaments)

Ranking Goals:
> 4 Star tennisrecruiting ranking
> Top 100 in the Midwest
> Top 16 in the Ohio Valley
> Qualify for the Midwest Closed in the summer

Days & Times:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4-6pm

JUNIOR EXCELLENCE 1 Program
This program is designed for the committed player. A player in this program must currently own a USTA ranking or play varsity singles or competed in  5 USTA tournaments in the past 12 months. The goal for players in this program is to earn his/her first Midwest ranking or a top 100 Midwest ranking. Players in this program are also definitely interested in playing college tennis.

Commitment Goals:
> Commit to 10 week session
> Train 1-3 days per week
> Play 10-15 USTA tournaments per year
> Play matches on weekends (when not in tournaments)

Ranking Goals:
> Top 100 in the Midwest
> Top 16 in the Ohio Valley
> Qualify for the Midwest Closed in the summer

Days & Times:
Tuesday, Thursday: 4-6pm
Saturday: 2-4pm

JUNIOR EXCELLENCE 2 Program
This program is designed for the advanced beginner or intermediate player. A player in the program probably does not currently own a USTA ranking but wants to possibly play tournaments in the next twelve months. There are no age requirements but younger players must have some playing experience.

Program Goals:
> Be ready to play first USTA tournament
> Be ready to win first USTA local tournament
> Make varsity for his/her high school tennis team

Ranking Goals:
> Earn first Ohio Valley ranking

Days & Times:
Tuesday, Thursday: 4-6pm
Saturday: 12-2pm

JUNIOR EXCELLENCE 3 Program
This program is designed for the beginning players. A player in this program wants to learn the basics and be able to play a set within six months. Players in this program will learn basic stroke fundamentals, how to serve, and how to keep score. Generally, the ages for players in this program are 7-14, but all comparable levels are accepted.

Program Goals:
> Learn basics and become ready to play a set
> Move up to Junior Excellence 2

Days & Times:
Tuesday: 4-5pm
Thursday: 4-5pm/6-7pm
Saturday: 12-1pm/1-2pm

QUICK KIDS Program
This program is designed to introduce young players to the game of tennis. Basic stroke fundamentals will be stressed in order for players to learn to make consistent contact. Players in this program tend to be between the ages of 4-8 years old.

Program Goals:
> Learn basics
> Be able to rally 10-20 balls back and forth with instructor
> Move up to Junior Excellence 3

Days & Times:
Tuesday, Thursday: 3:30-4pm
Saturday: 12-12:45pm/12:45-1:30pm

ELITE, JE1 & JE2 require a Junior Membership.
